We men are so handy

Riley, Bradley, Blayney, his father and myself built a room for the new, as-of-yet-unnamed, space this morning. Went up a lot quicker than I had expected. My boogers are white with gypsum.

Speaking of unnamed spaces, here's some of the names we've been bouncing around for 3036 Lincoln:

The Carpet District
The Sausauge Factory (in jest, but it always comes up...)
Mortello
The Lighthouse
MetaBax
The Antinaeum

Care to add to the list?

Lorem Ipsum, motherfucker

"The name Poliphilo means "lover of many things." The name Polia, in turn, means "many things." And to be sure, Poliphilo does love many things besides Polia. ...But he loves architecture most: he loves it as much as he loves Polia, in the same carnal way. One after the other, the buildings in the book become objects of desire, metaphors for Polia’s solido corpo."

Between shows

Didn't go hear the db's last nite. They went on way earlier than I had assumed they would. Boo. Instead, April took me to a house party where I drank beer and played with a blind puppy. Made me miss that crippled old cat I once knew in a former life. In career-related news I landed two design gigs yesterday: Schoolhouse Rock Live! at the aforementioned theatre I sit and type this to you now, and a Stephen Sondheim review at the Mercury that goes up at the end of October. Huzzah for the benjamins!
Tomorrow is my day off and I plan on scooting about the city in a most cavalier manner. Over and out.

From the booth

Here I sit on a Saturday evening, whiling away the time before the second performance of Grand Hotel. I type this to you as I watch the blue-hairs and tourists file in, balding heads and backwards cub hats and freakish pastel dye-jobs staring back at me. The band is now starting to tune up and I glance over at the meter modules to confirm that signal is being sent. I should really clean up some of the detrius left over from tech: coiled audio and ethernet cables of varying sizes on the floor, warped gaff, used up spray paint, empty pro-cell boxes, in front of me a box of medical tape, rubbing alcohol, red trojans, a rainbow of sharpies.
After the show tonight I think I'll ride my nifty new bicycle over to the hideout block party and hear the db's.
peace out y'all
